The Council of Information Security is mandated to work in six domains :-
THE PUBLIC DOMAIN
We work on raising the technical threshold of citizens to be able to use the e-governance resources, e-learning tools and be part of the National cyber economy. Work with Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Home on cyber safety and Awareness campaigns to empower citizens to prevent cybercrime. Work with Internet Society (ISOC) to participate in the administrative process of Internet governance.
We work for bridging the gap between Academia and Industry by almost real-time synchronization of developments in the industry with our training curriculum. The training is delivered on campus and through our online Virtual Training Portal(Eklavya) where the Information infrastructure and Information security education reaches the most inaccessible corners riding the super express internet highway.
THE EDUCATIONAL DOMAIN
THE TECHNICAL DOMAIN
Work with Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEITY) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on National outreach measures for capacity building in cyber security, digital forensics, cybercrime investigation, and internet governance. Work with Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and Internet Society (ISOC) as a whole to participate in the technical process of Internet governance and researches.
We work on information sharing, capacity building, cyber defense and awareness campaigns for mitigating possible dangers in cyberspace. We also work on cyber threat intelligence support for the cyber defensive operation.
THE MILITARY DOMAIN
THE ECONOMIC DOMAIN
We work to support NeGD on their various program in skill development, awareness campaigns for common user’s and as well as government employees. To be a part of governments campaign Cyber Surakshit Bharat to meet the new and emerging cyberworld challenges. Facilitate public-private partnership to fight against cybercrime and protect critical information infrastructure supporting the digital economy.
THE POLITICAL DOMAIN
We work on the participation of non-state actors from academia and civil society in cyber conflict management, internet governance, and cyber diplomacy.
We also work on behavior standards, netiquette, and privacy issues in cyberspace. Conduct Awareness drives for fighting against cyber-terrorism, and cyber-crime by establishing work groups and making recommendations to the government.
